The highly selective application process considers academic accomplishments, meaningful public interest work, and leadership experience. 2018-11-20 Skadden Arps Meagher & Flom decided in 1988 on an unusual 40th birthday celebration—instead of a fancy dinner or party, the firm set aside $10 million to fund a fellowship for young lawyers who opt to work in public interest law. Skadden provides each Fellow with a salary and pays certain fringe benefits to which an employee of the sponsoring organization would be entitled.
